Course Objectives Strategic Management is the set of managerial decisions and actions, reactions, as well as interactions which all, determine the long-term performance of a corporation. It includes environmental scanning (both internal and external), strategy formulation ( strategic or long-range planning), strategy implementation, and evaluation and control. As companies more and more enter the challenging competition in the global markets, a broader definition of corporate strategy as it relates to developing competitive advantage is needed to provide managers with superior tools to improve their strategic thinking. Global Competition Strategy covers three main areas: global, multinational and international strategies. Essentially, these three areas refer to those strategies designed to enable an organization to achieve its objective of international expansion depending on its resources, capabilities, and its current international position.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • evaluate the changes in the business environment, industry, and organization itself
  • explain how to take strategic decisions on managerial level
  • distinguish between global, multinational and international strategies
Course Content Through HBR case studies and theoretical teaching with examples.
